Tape and Bandaids

Telling yourself you have it together

Is not the same as having it together

Putting tape on broken glass

Or a bandaid on a broken bone

Will not collect the shards

Habits habits habits

Changes changes changes

Periods of change do not exist

Change is constant

Within a facade of progress

Lies a facade of constancy

Blindly moving forward with no direction

You simply move

Or you stand still

One does not dictate the other

The possibility of becoming omnidirectional

Each with their own influences

Their own highways, lanes, traffic lights, and sidewalks

Some for driving

Some for biking

Some for running

But none for the still-standing

For they use tape and bandaids

Get up. Move.

Stagnation kills

Be omnidirectional

Smother yourself with drive

And enrich yourself with dread

For any emotion

Is more progressive than apathy
